Hi, my name is Aaron and I am 26 years old from a small-ish ex-fishing town in the north east of Scotland called Lossiemouth. I have recently just gained an honours degree in mathematics which I have studied with the Open University for the past 4 years, and previously I also attained a bachelors degree in Environmental Science. While this has been an incredibly rewarding phase of my life, since I have spent much of it sitting exams and rifling through textbooks I feel now is the time to explore some of the wider world, experiencing exciting new things and meeting new people. Last year I had a 2 month stint in Western Australia, during which I had an amazing experience volunteering at the Monkey Mia resort in Shark Bay. This involved providing tourists with information on the resort and local dolphins, as well as assisting in the dolphin feeding experiences. These sessions were incredible as I was able to stand in the water amongst them as they nudged me for more fish. This opportunity opened my eyes to the benefits of pushing myself out of my usual comfort zone and left me with a thirst for participating in further unique and interesting travel-based projects and activities.
